Walter Robert Burke-Hill was born on July 21, 1951, in Sewanee Tennessee to Loretta Hill. “Robert” or “Bobby” as he was most well-known for had an infectious laugh and smile that lit up the room. His sense of humor and ability to laugh at life made him instantly enjoyable to be around. Robert grew up in Tennessee. He had five siblings: Johnny, Mike, Regina, Terry, and Jerry. Later, he moved to the farm with his Aunt Annie & Uncle George and his two sisters/cousins Elizabeth & Florence.

In 1975 Robert moved to Boston, Massachusetts where he worked numerous jobs before settling at Boston College as a Police Officer. “Bobby Hill” worked at Boston College for over thirty years and had a positive impact on many of the students. It was at BC where he would meet his future wife, Christa and they married in 1988. Robert and Christa had four incredible children: Miles, Xavier, Marcus and Maya, they lived together in Franklin, MA for twenty-one years before heading to Arizona in 2015 to be closer to their adult children who all had settled in the western part of the country.

Now residing in the desert, Robert was able to spend all his time with his wife Christa, eldest son Miles and daughter in law Bay. He lives on through his five beautiful grandchildren Jayden, Eli, Gunner, Arlo, and Poppy. Over these years, Robert was able to also spend time with his other children, Xavier and his fiancé Carly, Marcus and his partner Sonia, and last but not least, his favorite daughter Maya. Robert quickly grew to love the Tucson weather, new friends, and the exquisite mountain views.

Robert and Christa had forty-five years together, thirty-six of them married. He was an avid Patriots & Celtics fan and lover of music. He passed peacefully at home surrounded by family and listening to Earth Wind & Fire on September 17, 2024. Robert was greatly impacted by his cousins, in-laws, nieces & nephews, brothers & sisters in Blue, and lifelong friends. We encourage those who were impacted by Robert to continue to share stories about him and keep his memory alive.

Per his request, there will not be a service, but donations can be made to The National Kidney Foundation https://www.kidney.org/ or Soulistic Hospice in Tucson, AZ https://soulistichospice.org/…
