Virginia Below

Virginia “Ginny” Below, 85, of Oro Valley, Arizona died peacefully at her care home Wednesday afternoon, October 23rd. Born in Union County Kentucky on October 14, 1939, she was the daughter of Clayton and Willie Below and the tenth of eleven children.

She is survived by her daughters, Martha McDonough (Jim) and Julie Urbancik; grandchildren Sarah McDonough Campbell (Jerrod), Jacob, Stephanie, and Joseph Urbancik, her great granddaughter Collins Campbell, her brother John Below (Sally) and sister in-law Mary Below. Aunt Ginny dearly loved her many nieces and nephews. Ginny was also blessed with many great friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents along with her siblings, biological and by marriage: Charles (Lucille) Below, Eleanor (A.B.) Mitchell, Dorothy (Al) Hohmann, Russell (Betty) Below, Agnes (Bob) Thompson, Elsie Below, Bill Below, Judy (Dave) Hannum, and Helen (Don) Mills.

Virginia/Ginny was a daughter, a sister, an aunt, a mother, a teacher, a friend and neighbor, an avid reader, a choir member, a traveler, a baker, a family reunion devotee, a scrap booker, a quilter, a crossword and jigsaw puzzler, and so much more. One thing she was not, was a breast cancer survivor. Please remember to have regular screenings and urge your loved ones to as well.
