Socorro Bermudez

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Socorro "Cora" Bermudez, who went peacefully in her sleep on June 16, 2024, at the age of 88. She has joined her beloved late daughter, Dianna Rodriguez, and her parents in heaven.

Cora, affectionately known as Peta, was born on May 15, 1936, in Tucson, Arizona. She was a humble and vibrant native Tucsonan who loved life to the fullest. Her infectious spirit and zest for living were evident to all who knew her. Cora was the life of the party, always ready with a warm smile, a hearty laugh, and an open heart. She had a special affection for her dogs, who were her faithful companions throughout her life.

Cora is survived by her devoted son, Federico Castillo, and his wife, Jocelyn. She was a loving grandmother to Daniella, Bridgett, Stephanie, Freddy, Devanah, Martin, Matthew, Dara, and Esedero, who brought immense joy and pride into her life.

Cora's legacy is one of love, laughter, and community. She will be remembered for her vibrant personality, her kindness, and her unwavering dedication to her family and friends. Her home was a sanctuary of warmth and hospitality, a place where everyone felt welcome and loved.

A celebration of Cora's life will be held on July 1, 2024, at Most Holy Trinity in Tucson, where family and friends will gather to honor the remarkable life she lived.

Socorro "Cora" Bermudez, our beloved Peta, will be deeply missed but never forgotten. Her spirit will continue to live on in the hearts of those who were fortunate enough to know her.
