**In Loving Memory of Shirley Payton**
**October 19, 1937 - December 19, 2019**
Mrs. Shirley Payton, 82, of Tucson, Arizona, passed away at home on December 19, 2019. She was born on October 19, 1937, in Belvidere, Illinois, to William and Bessie Moore. Shirley was a dedicated housewife and homemaker, actively engaged in her community. She was a member of the Marana VFW Women's Auxiliary, St. Christopher Catholic Parish, and Casas Church. Known affectionately as “Gramms” or “Mom,” she was also a proud championship team bowler and involved in numerous charities. Shirley was admired for her honesty and served as a witty advisor to many.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vern Payton; her parents; her sister, Frances Beard; her brother, David Moore; and one grandchild. She is survived by her daughter, Jane Anne Murray; four sons, Edward Allen Boettcher, Donald Eugene Boettcher, James Arthur Boettcher, and Kenneth Michael Boettcher; one sister, Roberta Hackman; one brother, Howard Moore; 14 grandchildren; and 11 great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be held on Friday, December 27, 2019, at 9:00 AM at the Barrier Chapel at Casas Church. The funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM, also at Casas Church. A procession to her final resting place, Holy Hope Catholic Cemetery, will immediately follow the service.
