Robert Louis Ylvisaker passed away in the early morning hours, September 27, 2024, after a short but courageous battle against cancer. He was born in Las Vegas, NV, July 28, 1980, where his dad was stationed at Nellis AFB. The family moved to Davis-Monthan AFB, AZ, then to Travis AFB, CA, then to Zaragoza AB, Spain, before coming back to Davis-Monthan where they settled after his dad retired from the Air Force.
Robert attended Carson Junior High School and graduated in 1998 from Santa Rita High School where he played the tuba for the orchestra and the marching band. He received many accolades and awards playing the tuba. He then played the tuba for the U of A marching band. He played soccer, baseball and golf growing up. Robert played adult softball and golf as he grew into adulthood. He excelled at bowling where he threw several 300 games and 800 series. He was a youth bowling coach and mentored many up-and-coming bowlers. He entered the work force for the clerk's office of the Pima County Superior Court in the civil and archives departments before he had to leave due to a disability.
Robert is survived by his devoted wife, Alexandria Ylvisaker; his parents, Keith A and Mona M Ylvisaker; his children, who he thought the world of, his daughter, Victoria Ylvisaker (fiancé Timothy Jacob); his son, Keith R Ylvisaker; and stepson Josh Barleycorn.
The family wishes to thank the staff who treated Robert with the utmost care and dignity: TMC emergency room and hospital, Sandstone SNF, Peppi's House and Avenidas Cremation & Burial.
There will be no funeral services per his wish. A celebration of life will be held at a later time.
A good man was taken well before his time.
