Bob Donohue, age 77, of Green Valley, AZ, passed away unexpectedly at Banner University Hospital, Tucson, AZ on August 5, 2024. He was cradled in the arms of his beloved wife of 54 years, Barb Bressi-Donohue.
Born in Harrisburg Hospital, PA on September 28th, 1946, to Mary Jane Dunmire Donohue and Robert Earl Donohue, Sr., Bob was the older brother of Linda Donohue McClain (who died March 6th, 2023) and her twin, John Donohue (who died November 6th, 2023). His parents are both deceased.
A graduate of Mechanicsburg High School, he attended York Academy of Arts before joining the Army in 1967. He served two tours in Vietnam, earning many medals including the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious service in Vietnam. A sharpshooter, he carried his love for weapons into his civilian life, teaching his wife, Barb, how to shoot.
Upon returning from Vietnam, he and Barb married in 1970 at St. Luke's Episcopal Church, Mechanicsburg, PA. Their daughter, Kimberly Michele Donohue was born in Community General Osteopathic Hospital in Harrisburg, PA in 1973.
In 1978, after Bob became Senior VP at York Federal Savings & Loan in Hershey, PA; they moved to Tucson, AZ where Bob continued his financial career. 1982 found them in Las Vegas, NV; in April 2002, they moved to Huntington Beach, CA before moving back to Las Vegas in 2015. After a successful advertising/public relations/ marketing business in all these places, they retired in 2020 to Green Valley, AZ where they bought their dream home.
Bob is survived by his wife, Barbara Bressi-Donohue of Green Valley, AZ and his beloved daughter, Kimberly Michele Donohue of Las Vegas, NV. Also, one niece, Trisha and two nephews Mike and Jim.
Per Bob's wishes, there will be no funeral/memorial. He will be cremated and his ashes interred at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ by his father-in-law, Arthur A. Bressi, a former four-year POW of the Japanese in WWII, who died Veterans Day, 1989 and was buried November 15, 1989.
