Richard Kluin, 86, of Tucson, Arizona died at home Saturday, April 27, 2024 surrounded by his family. Born at home in Arlington Washington he was the sixth of seven children born to Albert and Catherine (Bos) Kluin. He is survived by his wife Gloria of Arizona three daughters Lynne, Diane and Gail of New Jersey and one son Richard of Tucson. After serving in the U.S. Air Force he returned to Washington to become a Logging & Cutting Contractor in Granite Falls. Following a logging accident, he earned his Associates Degree from Everett Community College. In the 1980’s he opened Marysville Supply Co Inc., a wholesale fishing and sporting goods business. During the 1987 Stock Market crash he skillfully downsized this business without realizing a loss. He then created and opened Puppies N Pets, a retail business in Everett Washington. In 1995 he sold this business and retired with his wife to Arizona. At the time of his passing he and his wife were married almost 57 years.

The Kluin family extends their deepest gratitude to the nurses and staff of Soulistic Hospice for their compassionate care of Richard. We also extend our sincere thanks for the continual assistance of the Golder Ranch Fire personnel during his illness. Richard’s burial was a private Military Honors service at the Arizona Veterans’ Memorial Cemetery in Marana, Arizona on May 17, 2024. Memorial donations may be made to Soulistic Hospice or Golder Ranch Fire Department.
