Raul "Chilo" Carranza, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. He was 80 years old.

Born on August 7, 1944, Raul lived a full and spirited life rooted in love, hard work, and passion. Known affectionately as "Chilo," he was a proud husband, married to Frances for 62 years, a devoted father to four children, and a cherished grandfather to 11 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. He was one of 12 siblings in a large and loving family that always remained close.

A proud member of the Teamsters Union, Raul worked as a foreman for over 30 years, earning the respect of his peers with his tireless work ethic and leadership. Outside of work, he was a man of strength and grit—once a boxer, always a fighter. He also had a deep love for the outdoors and was an avid hunter throughout his life.

Raul had a lifelong passion for baseball and was a diehard Dodgers fan. Whether it was watching a game on TV or talking stats with his grandchildren, his love for the sport was contagious and enduring.

Raul's legacy is one of resilience, loyalty, and heart. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that you share a memory, raise a toast, or cheer on the Dodgers in his honor—just the way he would’ve wanted.
