Michael Louis Gerbais, 68, passed away peacefully on June 1, 2025, just days before his 69th birthday. Born on June 10, 1956, Michael lived a life marked by quiet strength, deep devotion to his family, and a steadfast work ethic.He is survived by his loving wife, Roberta “Bobbie” Gerbais; his children, Michael Rene Gerbais Sr., Joseph Aaron Gerbais, and Aleah Marrisa Gerbais; grandson Michael Rene Gerbais Jr. and granddaughter Leticia Torres; and great-grandson Ezekiel Antonio Torres. Michael is also survived by his sisters Mary Celaya (William), Yolanda Contreras (Fred), and Christina Gerbais (Joe Hernandez). He is lovingly remembered by his godson Adrian Lopez; his devoted cousin and friend Rick Valdez (Candie); and by his beloved in-laws: brother-in-law Manny Lopez, sister-in-law Carmen Lopez (Liza), and brother-in-law Richard Lopez (Veronica).Mike had many nieces, nephews, and cousins who brought joy and pride into his life. He was a dedicated family man who found joy in the simple pleasures of life and the people he loved most.

For many years, Michael worked as a produce manager for Food City Bashas’, where his reliability and strong work ethic left a lasting impression on coworkers and customers alike. Outside of work, he found peace and happiness in the outdoors—fishing, hunting, and enjoying the beauty of nature. He also took great joy in his wife’s cooking, always appreciating the love and care she poured into every meal. Though stubborn at times, Michael had a generous heart and an open home. He welcomed others without hesitation and found his own quiet way to show he cared. His humor, laughter, and perfectly timed jokes brought light to even the toughest days. He often spoke of his wish to dance with Bobbie once more, a reflection of his enduring love and the bond they shared.

Michael will be remembered for his strength, his warmth, and the laughter he brought to those around him. He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Michael’s final wishes were for no public services to be held. Honoring those wishes, the family will gather for a private memorial at a later date to celebrate his life and legacy.
