Marie P Freiberger

Marie Patricia Freiberger (Ashe), 67, passed away at home in Sahuarita AZ on Friday October 31, 2025.

Born August 17th 1958 in Easton, MD, Marie lived all over the country ranging as far north as Ketchikan, Alaska and as far south as Laredo, TX. It was her stop in Orange County, CA where she met and married her husband of nearly 38 years, Scott, and had her 2 children, Ryan and Elizabeth. Out of the many places Marie called home, Bowdoinham, ME was the place she considered her true home. She spent 15 years in Maine raising her family before moving to San Diego, CA for 10 years and finally retiring to Sahuarita, AZ in 2020.

Marie had a varied career path but she was truly passionate about education. She was incredibly proud of the time she spent working in special education at Bowdoinham elementary school and volunteering with the gifted and talented program there.

Marie was an avid gardener, knitter, and quilter, and adored her 5 cats. She spent many hours volunteering at The Animal League of Green Valley prior to her passing and was incredibly passionate about their mission.

Marie is survived by her husband Scott, son Ryan, daughter Elizabeth (Nicholas) as well as sister Claire (Roger), brother Paul, step sister Terri (Felix), step brother Michael (Diane), half sister Ella Ruth, and half brother James.

Marie’s warmth, generosity and enthusiasm left a lasting impression on all who met her. She will be terribly missed.
