Margery Edwards Nemura, age 83, passed away peacefully at her home in Tucson, Arizona, on January 18, surrounded by her loving family, after a brief and courageous battle with esophageal cancer. Born on September 19, 1940, in Bronx, New York, Margery was the daughter of Andrew Latimer and Margaret (Schloen) Latimer.

Margery is survived by her devoted husband, Dennis Nemura, and her children Braden Edwards (Carolyn Feinstein Edwards) and Elizabeth (Edwards) Duxbury (Paul Duxbury). She is also lovingly remembered by her stepchildren Todd Nemura and Daniel Nemura (Nancy Taylor) and her cherished grandchildren Max Duxbury, Andrew Duxbury, Jack Edwards, Sophie Edwards, Charlotte Edwards, and Tyler Nemura.

Margery dedicated her life to education, holding a teaching degree in Physical Education. Her career culminated with a position as a Middle School Guidance counselor, where her passion for helping students shone brightly. Known for her toughness, strength, and compassion, Margery continued to support students throughout her life by volunteering in elementary schools, offering extra support to those in need.

Born in the Bronx, Margery later raised her family in Easton, PA, where she and Dennis exchanged vows September 26, 1981. Her love for travel took her to many places, with Portugal holding a special place in her heart. The couple lived in various locations, fostering friendships wherever they went. Margery's warm and welcoming nature made her the go-to person for new community members.

Margery was a woman of many talents and interests. An avid skier, she shared her love for the sport with her children at a young age. She was a gracious hostess, skilled at cooking, playing bridge, golf, and tennis. Her love for style was evident, always impeccably put together with a love for convertible cars, culminating in her cherished cherry red Mini Cooper.

Her holiday spirit was infectious, evident in her love for hearts, Christmas trees adorned with heart ornaments, and masterful wreath-making skills.

Margery's love for ice cream, Reese’s peanut butter cups and Starbucks, especially white chocolate mochas with extra whip, added sweetness to her life. While technology might not have been her forte, her ability to laugh about not knowing where the camera was for the Facetime call brought us all a little bit of joy.

At Margery's request, no services will be held. To honor her memory, please consider donating to a charity of your choice or volunteering your time to help those in need. Condolences and memories can be shared with Dennis Nemura at 39244 S. Sand Crest Drive, Tucson, Arizona 87539.

Margery Nemura's light will forever shine as the brightest star in the sky, watching over us and undoubtedly offering guidance with a smile or possibly an eye roll. Keep on humming to your favorite Sarah McLachlan song!
