Manuel Torres Sr., lovingly known by many as “Super” for his Superman spirit, was born on December 26, 1958, in Tucson, Arizona, to Nellie Moreno Torres and Mike Granillo.

At just 10 years old, Manuel met the love of his life, Mary (Maria Puig). By the age of 16, he began courting her, and their bond grew into a lifelong love story. Together, they built a beautiful family and shared decades of devotion and joy.

Manuel and Mary were blessed with three children: Melissa (born September 1975), Manuel Jr. (born December 1977), and their surprise blessing, Michael (born June 1984). His love only deepened as his family grew, and he took immense pride in being a grandfather to many grandchildren and great-grandchildren, cherishing every moment spent with them.

From a young age, Manuel’s super spirit shone through his talents. As a freshman in high school, he demonstrated outstanding athletic ability, competing and succeeding at the varsity level in both wrestling and football. While he excelled in sports, Manuel valued education above athletics, always reminding those around him of the importance of knowledge and growth.

Known for his kind heart, sense of humor, and passion for life, Manuel was admired by all who knew him. A true sports enthusiast, he was a loyal Green Bay Packers fan, but his greatest passion was always his family. He also found joy in cooking for his loved ones, often sharing meals made with love that brought everyone together.

Manuel was also known for his wisdom and originality, often sharing his own memorable quotes. One of his last sayings was: “I see what I see, you see what you see, and if you don’t see what I see, that’s your problem.” These words, like so many of his, continue to inspire those he leaves behind.

Above all, Manuel believed deeply in God’s plan for his life. He often said that only God would decide when it was time for him to return to where he came from. With peace in his heart, he now rejoins his loved ones who have gone before him, saving us all a seat at the table.

In his professional life, Manuel thrived as a skilled automotive front-end specialist. His hard work and dedication paved the way for his success, but he always reminded others that the greatest measure of success was family and love—not money.

Manuel leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, laughter, and strength. His spirit will live on forever in the hearts of all who were fortunate to know him.
