Luis Antonio Gonzalez “Tony”, age 76, of Lordsburg , NM, passed away in Tucson, AZ on 10/07/2025, surrounded by loved ones. Luis is preceded in death by his two sons Luis Antonio Gonzalez Jr and Daniel Gonzalez; grandson Timothy Daniel Gonzalez; his Father Luis L Gonzalez, Mother Rosalia S Gonzalez; sister Silvia S Gonzalez and brother Arturo S Gonzalez.

Born on October 3, 1949 in Morenci, AZ, Tony was the beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend who touched many lives with his sense of humor, strength and generosity.

Tony attended Lordsburg High School, drafted into the Army in 1969, after returning home he spent years working as a business owner and in the mines. He was high school sweethearts with Esther Marie and married after he returned from the service in 1971 and together they shared 59 years of love, laughter, and partnership. 

Luis is survived by his spouse Esther Marie Gonzalez, daughters Marie Antonette Reyes, Raquel Gonzalez-Arambula and her husband Joe L Arambula; daughter in law Stephanie Gonzalez-Garcia; 11 grandchildren, 7 great grandchildren and 6 siblings, who will carry on his memory with love and gratitude. 

Beyond work and family, Tony had a deep passion for spending time with family and making them laugh. He will be remembered for his jokes, dance moves, love for Tejano music and being a dedicated Dallas Cowboy fan.

A memorial service will be held on October 25, 2025 at St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Lordsburg, NM. Rosary: 10:00 AM Mass: 11:00 AM Burial: To follow.

All who knew Luis Antonio Gonzalez are welcome to attend and celebrate a life well-lived. Food will be served at the Elks after services.

Though Tony is no longer with us in body, his spirit lives on in the hearts of those who knew and loved him.
