Kenneth Raymond Bruce, 71, passed away on September 22, 2023 in Tucson, AZ. He was the husband of Betty Jean Bruce. They shared (34) years of marriage together.
Born August 12, 1952 in Sioux City, Iowa, Kenneth was the son of William Raymond Bruce and Jean Annette Bruce. He retired from the U.S. Army and the Department of Defense where he worked as and X-ray Technician. He was a retired veteran of the United States Army and was awarded a Meritorious Service Medal, multiple Army Achievement Medals, multiple Army Good Conduct Medals, Multiple National Defense Service Medals, multiple NCO Professional Development Ribbons, an Army Service Ribbon, an Overseas Service Ribbon, and an Army Recruiting Badge with multiple Sapphire Achievement Stars.
He enjoyed watching all sports but his favorite sport was college basketball. His favorite basketball team was the Arizona Wildcats. He also enjoyed listening to music while smoking a cigar. He would practice playing the bongo drum. He enjoyed history and military memorabilia. He will be remembered for his generosity and willingness to help others that were not so fortunate.
Kenneth is survived by his stepsons John Haynes and Anthony Haynes, and daughter Alexandra Starkey, daughter in law Amanda Haynes, grandchildren Alex Field, Landon Noll, Faith Haynes, Casius Haynes, Nevaeh Haynes, Michael Jacob Morgan, and Anne Morgan. Kenneth is predeceased by his wife Betty Bruce, parents William and Jean Bruce, and his dog and best friend Oscar.
The graveside service will be held on July 2, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. at Fayetteville National Cemetery 1000 S. Lt. Col. Leroy Pond Avenue, Fayetteville, AR 72701.
