With heavy hearts and deep love, we share the passing of Kathleen Mary Chojnacki (Puetz) on Friday, July 11, 2025. A beloved wife, mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, Kathy brought kindness, warmth, and joy to all who knew her.

Born on September 9, 1949, in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, Kathy was the youngest of three children born to Jordan and Josephine Puetz. Her early years were filled with close family bonds and enduring values that would shape her loving spirit. She graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in 1968 in Milwaukee.

On June 13, 1970, Kathy married the love of her life, Robert Chojnacki, and together they built a life centered on family, laughter, and devotion. She was a proud and caring mother to her daughter, Rene’, and later found immeasurable joy in being a grandmother to Amber and Hunter.

Kathy had a deep appreciation for the simple pleasures of life. She found peace and wonder in nature, especially in the beauty of the wildlife that visited her backyard, from birds and javelinas to the occasional curious bobcat or coyote. Her home was always filled with the loving presence of her cherished dogs and cats. Kathy was a great cook, always balanced the checkbook, maintained a strong spiritual bond with the Lord, and was an honorable and trusted friend to all.

Her career included positions in bookkeeping, accounting, and office management. Kathy served in the banking, manufacturing, property management, and financial advisory industries. She was a Certified Senior Advisor (CSA) and was recognized for her customer service skills.

She is survived by her husband Robert Chojnacki, daughter Rene’ Chojnacki, grandchildren Amber Zurn and Hunter Zurn, and brother Robert Puetz. She will also be lovingly remembered by many brothers/sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and dear friends. Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and her brother, Jack.

Sincere praise is due to the many physicians, nurses, and specialists who courageously worked to provide life-nurturing care to Kathy over decades of serious health issues. She was also a cancer survivor (1993).

“THANK YOU” to all of you for sharing your friendship with Kathy, making her life worthwhile.

In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests any donations be directed to religious or medical charities such as The American Cancer Society or to the Best Friends Animal Society. Memorial services will be announced at a later date.
