Karen Diahann Yrigoyen, aged 47, passed away on April 17, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on January 26, 1978, Karen dedicated her life to nurturing and educating children, having spent over two decades working with youth in various experiences like Happy Hours, Crew Club, and Paulo Freire Middle School.
A graduate of Montwood High School in El Paso, Texas and the University of Arizona, Karen was known for her loving and caring nature. She was a devoted wife of 22 years to Robert Yrigoyen and a loving mother to their son, Adam. Her passion for life extended beyond her professional work, as she was an excellent cook, baker, and crafter. Karen had a particular fondness for planning parties and traveling. Disney Parks were her favorite destination, which she often described as her second home. Karen got to share many unforgettable memories there with numerous family and friends over the years.
Karen is survived by her husband, Robert; son, Adam; mother, Natalie Watson; sister, Veronica Watson; brother, Alfredo Torralba; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandmother, Teresa Quijada, and aunt, Judy Watson. Services will be held for Karen on Saturday, May 10, 2025 at St. Augustine's Cathedral, located at 192 S Stone Ave, Tucson, AZ. A rosary will be at 9:30 am, followed by a mass at 10:00 am. A celebration of her life will continue from 11 am to 3 pm at 37 E Pennington St, Tucson, AZ. Those wishing to honor Karen's memory are invited to
