Karen Jeanette May Lawler, a cherished wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, and sister, passed away peacefully at the age of 66 on October 3, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona.
Born on July 1, 1959, in Anderson, Indiana, Karen spent her early years surrounded by the love of family and faith—foundations that would guide her throughout her life.
Karen is lovingly survived by her devoted husband, Grady DeWayne Lawler, Jr., and their daughter Tiffanie Gamboa (Natasha Gamboa); Talicia McCullough and her father Allen Dale McCullough; James C. May (Karen's father); and her loving siblings, Donna Washington and Richard May (Randall Taylor, David Newman, and Robert Johnson Jr.). She is also survived by her cherished niece, Miranda Jones (Donna’s daughter), who shared a special bond with her beloved aunt.
She leaves behind a beautiful legacy through her adored grandchildren: Chase DeWayne Gamboa, Lola Karynn McCullough, Quincy Allen McCullough, and Izayah Alexander McCullough.
Karen was preceded in death by her loving mother, Lula Bea May; her grandparents, Roland and Ora Jordan; her brother, Charles Washington; and her infant granddaughter, Tamia Joi McCullough.
Karen’s life was one of faith, love, and unwavering dedication to those she held dear. Her spirit will continue to shine brightly through every life she touched.
Karen’s life was a reflection of her two greatest passions: her steadfast faith in Christ and her deep devotion to her family. Her love for the Lord was the guiding light of her life, and her greatest joy came from being a wife, mother, and grandmother. Her warmth, compassion, and unshakable faith touched every life she encountered.
