Joseph Richard Sosky, A Spirit in the Sky

Joseph Richard Sosky, age 76, passed away in Vail, Arizona on December 14th, 2024

He leaves behind his loving wife and soulmate Pam of 30 years; daughters Cheri, Lisa (and wife, Raven); sons Dean (and partner, Sherri) and JR (and wife, Kim); grandchildren Ella, Drake and Zoe; and fur babies Dexter and Precious.

Joe wanted to be cremated and laid to rest at his home in Vail, Arizona overlooking the backyard paradise he had created with Pam. Up until the end, he was adding beauty to his Arizona oasis with his latest hobby of painting planters. It was his Heaven on earth, and this is where he now rests.

He was a devoted husband and supportive father and grandfather. The love for his family was unwavering. Joe was man of passion. Passion for his family, his country, music, sports and all he set out to do. He could be a stubborn man, but when he loved, he loved hard. He lived his life with integrity and courage. He tackled every new adventure or obstacle with courage and strength. He was a fighter to the end. His love will forever be with us.

Joe did not want a memorial service but instead wanted his friends to toast him while listening to Spirit in the Sky, by Norman Greenbaum.

In honor of Joe’s memory, please consider donating to Tunnel of Towers Foundation: Tunnel to Towers Foundation (https://t2t.org/). He loved his country and possessed an unwavering passion for supporting our Veterans. This passion was ignited when he joined the Army, and although he only served for a short time, he was a patriot throughout his entire life.

We encourage you to share a favorite memory or add a tribute to celebrate Joe’s life, as he daughter Cheri has done below:
