“Joan D. Roberts, age 95, passed away peacefully in her home on October 14, 2025, one day before her 96th birthday. Born in Detroit, Michigan, to Charles Persichino and Rose Konke, Joan lived a long and thoughtful life filled with learning, laughter, and love.

Joan earned a Bachelor’s degree in Linguistics and an Associate’s degree in Paralegal studies, later dedicating her career to working as a paralegal. She was known for her sharp intellect and her love of books, poetry, and spirited conversation. A lifelong learner, Joan found joy in exploring new ideas and cultures.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Edward A. Roberts, who passed in 2009. Though she had no children, Joan filled her life with meaningful friendships and was surrounded by people who cherished her company and looked forward to her visits.

Joan had a memorable laugh, a generous and giving spirit, and a wonderful sense of humor. She deeply cared about others, always asking after their families and offering warmth and kindness. She loved cats, especially her beloved companions Squawk and Twila, and enjoyed a good glass of Chardonnay while reading or listening to music.

Joan will be remembered for her intelligence, her laughter, and her gentle, thoughtful heart.”
