Jeffery Wayne Gorgus, born on September 29, 1949, in Montgomery, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 23, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. He was 75 years old.
A skilled craftsman and dedicated entrepreneur, Jeffery was the proud owner of Gorgus and Son, a business known for building everything from custom cabinets and fine furniture to entire homes. His work reflected not only his talent but also his deep commitment to quality and craftsmanship. Through his business, he left a lasting mark on the communities he served and passed down valuable skills and work ethic to future generations. He also spent some time mussel diving which he really enjoyed doing.
Jeffery spent the last five years of his life in Tucson, Arizona, having relocated from Arab, Alabama. He cherished the outdoors and found joy in working with his hands—whether building something new or simply enjoying nature’s beauty. Above all else, Jeffery loved spending time with his family and loved making memories camping with his children as well as grandchildren before his health declined.
He is lovingly remembered by his children: Kimberly Gonzalez, Glenn Gorgus, Jeffery Nolon Gorgus, Karen Smith, and Sandi Cone; his brother William Joseph Gorgus Jr; six-teen grandchildren; and twenty-two great-grandchildren. With a host of nieces and nephews. Jeffery was preceded in death by his parents, William Joseph Gorgus Sr. and Jeanette Gorgus, his daughter Angie Bolton as well as his grandchild Jacob Luna and great-grandchild Caleb Martin.
Jeffery’s legacy lives on through the family he nurtured and the structures he built—both physical and personal. May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him.
