In Loving Memory of Irene Marie Fairweather June 28, 1943 – October 5, 2025

Irene Marie Fairweather, 82, of Denver, Colorado, passed away peacefully on October 5, 2025, in Tucson, Arizona. Born on June 28, 1943, in Denver, she was the beloved daughter of Manuel and Evila Valdez.

A proud graduate of Annunciation High School in Denver, Class of 1959, Irene pursued a career in aviation, working as a Flight Attendant for Frontier Airlines and later retiring from Continental Airlines. Her grace, professionalism, and warm spirit made her a cherished colleague and friend throughout her career.

In 1964, Irene married Jim Fairweather, with whom she shared many years and raised a family. Though later divorced, she remained a devoted parent and grandparent, always placing family at the heart of her life. Irene was known for her kindness, quick wit, and unwavering support for those she loved.

She is survived by her loving partner, Chuck Rice; her son, Gregg (Jennifer) Fairweather; and her grandson, Gregory Fairweather II. Irene also leaves behind her brothers, Manuel and Robert Valdez; and her sister, Elaine Tafoya. She was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Evila Valdez; her brother, Jose; and her sisters, Consuelo, Esparanza, Edna, and Gloria.

A funeral service to honor Irene’s life will be held at Saint Francis de Sales Parish, located at 1375 S. Camino Seco, Tucson, AZ 85710, on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at 10 AM.

Irene will be remembered for the joy she brought to others, her deep love for family, and the legacy of compassion she leaves behind.
