Gertrude Gonzalez

Mrs. Gertrude (Tula) R. Gonzalez, 84, passed away on September 28, 2023, in her home in Tucson, Arizona. She was born on January 3, 1939, to Amelia & Arcadio Robles in Ajo, Arizona. Tula graduated from Ajo High School in 1957. She married Louie Gonzalez in April of 1960 and moved to southern California. There is where they began their family. They spent nineteen years in California raising their children, enjoying friends and family until they returned to Arizona, settling in Flagstaff for twenty-four years. There she grew her hobby of being a seamstress into a business that included everything from simple tailoring to creating beautiful wedding gowns. She in her later years was recruited by North Country clinic as a medical assistant & translator. After retirement in 2004 she and Louie moved to Tucson, Arizona, to be closer to family.

Tula loved being outdoors, walking, gardening, and socializing. She came from a big loving family and always welcomed anyone into her home lovingly. There was always food, wine, and great advice to be had.

Tula is survived by her husband, Luis D. Gonzalez, and her six children, Louie, Celeste, Lisa, Eric, Renee & Andrea. She is also survived by her fifteen grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren.

Services will take place on Monday, October 16, 2023, at Most Holy Trinity Catholic Parish. A viewing will take place at 9:00am, with a Rosary to begin at 9:30am. Mass will immediately follow at 10am. A luncheon will follow services, at the hall also at Most Holy Trinity.
