Fernando Espinoza passed away on February 25th, 2025, at the age of 39. He was a beloved brother, Tío, and friend, and he will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Fernando was preceded in death by his father, Jose 'Peewa' Espinoza, and his mother, Maria 'Patsy' Espinoza. He is survived by his brother, Joe Espinoza (Claudia), his sister, Danielle Lopez (Manuel), five nieces, two nephews, and countless friends.
Fernando was born and raised on the west side of Tucson, Arizona, where he made his home on Grande Avenue. From his favorite spot on a park bench in Menlo Park, he could take in the beautiful sunsets facing towards the Tucson Mountains.
Fernando will forever be remembered for his remarkable strength and resilience throughout his decade long battle with kidney disease and dialysis. Despite the challenges he faced, he never sought pity, instead choosing to remain humble.
A true character, Fernando's quick wit and sarcastic humor brought laughter to every conversation. He had a passion for wrestling and would never miss his beloved Monday night matches, proudly making it clear that everything else could wait. His other joys included watching the Dallas Cowboys, going to car shows, listening to oldies, enjoying monster trucks, and going out to concerts. Fernando was also a devoted fan of Whataburger, and found comfort in the flavors of St. Mary’s Mexican Restaurant.
But above all, Fernando was unapologetically himself. He loved marijuana and didn’t care what anyone thought about it , it was simply a part of who he was. And perhaps most importantly, he loved being a Tío. The joy he found in his family, especially his nieces and nephews, was immeasurable.
Fernando’s presence will be deeply missed, but the memories of his laughter, love, and unwavering spirit will remain in our hearts forever.
A memorial service with a rosary will be held at Avenidas Cremation and Burial on Saturday, March 29th, 2025, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests that donations in Fernando’s tribute be made to the National Kidney Foundation of Arizona in his memory. https://azkidney.org/tribute-gift-donation
