Obituary

Edward Lee Johnson, known by friends and family as “Ed” or “Ed Lee,” entered eternal life on December 1, 2023. Edward was born to the late Reverend Evans Johnson, Sr. and Florence Cade Johnson in Natchez, MS on August 18, 1952. He was a graduate of Ferriday High School. He enlisted in the United States Army in 1971 and served in the Vietnam War. Edward’s last duty station was in Sierra Vista, AZ where he continued to reside and began his career with the United States Postal Service. He will truly be missed by his family and friends.

Edward was preceded in death by his parents Reverend Evans Johnson Sr. and Florence Johnson; five brothers, Evans Johnson Jr., Earl Johnson, Eugene Johnson, Harry Johnson, and Mickey Johnson; and his step-grandchild Summer Brown. He leaves to cherish his memory his wife of twenty-three years, Toni Kennedy of Huachuca City, AZ; two daughters, Vanessa Johnson and Danielle Johnson, both of Huntsville, AL; two sons, Ethan Johnson and Christian Johnson, both of Huachuca City, AZ; two step-daughters, Taniesha (Dharquintium) Brown of Phoenix, AZ and Amber O’Neal of Glendale, AZ; three brothers, Ernest Johnson of Baton Rouge, LA, Calvin Johnson, and Rickey (Tarsha) Johnson of Dallas, TX; five sisters, Katie (Jeffrey) Baldwin of Atlanta, GA, Patricia (Arnor Ray) Barber of Atlanta, GA, Dora Whitley of Atlanta, GA, Jeanette Johnson of Columbia, MI, and Annette Johnson of Atlanta, GA; four grandchildren, Marchane’, Anthony, Ka’Len, and Imani; four step-grandchildren, Autumn, Marcus, Mila, and Christine; three great-grandchildren, Breeze, Adai, and Brooklyn, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
