Mental Health Poem

Poetry is my escape

I emerge from the deep end from this ache

Symptoms

Some real, some fake

Letting the rhythm float me away

Still,

I punctuate.

Better than the deep breath I take

Poetry is my escape

A way to cope

Something a psychologist might say

Poetry is my freedom
