--------
David Shifflet led a full life at the center of his family and as a key member of his community and his church. He always found a way to rise to the occasion and to be supportive of his family and friends. He was known for his generosity and empathy as he went above and beyond to extend understanding and compassion towards everyone he met.
David graduated from Brigham Young University and started a family in Boise, Idaho with Jo Ann Youngstrom and children John, Laura, and Christopher. He was an active member of his community LDS church and made an impact on many young people there as a Scout Master over the years. He worked as an Electrical Engineer at companies like Micron, Hewlett Packard, and Raytheon. His work brought him to Arizona and he became friends with many more people there.
David and Jo Ann divorced, and he remarried to Erica Billingsley and gained Kayden as a son. They lived happily for years until Erica’s tragic death in 2022. Kayden’s wife Martha provided daily care for David as his health declined over the last few years and as he entered hospice. He depended on Martha during this time and she dedicated a large portion of her life to his caregiving, something that all his family and friends will be forever grateful for.
David passed away on March 22nd, 2025 with Martha and his hospice nurses by his side, and family calling in to say goodbye together.
Please feel free to leave a picture or a message or a memory you have of David on this obituary page. Remembering him together is the best way to honor and appreciate his life.
