David Louis Ratcliff passed away on February 6th , 2025 after a brief battle with cancer. He. was born on June 22, 1971, in Louisville, KY. He was raised mostly in Wisconsin, with a brief time in Florida. He worked as a paramedic and a bar bouncer in his younger years, and eventually moved into safety positions at multiple companies throughout Illinois and Wisconsin. Midwest winters and a desire to be closer to his brother Scott, he moved to Tucson, AZ. He is preceded in death by his mother Jeanette Jatczak (Falco), step-father James Jatczak, and brother Kevin Jatczak. He is survived by his brother Scott Jatczak (Laurie), daughter Paige Allen (Keith), and granddaughter Marilyn Allen.
David had a passion for driving, fishing, hunting, and riding motorcycles. He was very charismatic; everywhere he went he would make a friend! A brief stop at a gas station turned into a 30 minute conversation and the exchange of phone numbers. Even in the hospital, he was making the nurses smile and chat with him while they were tending to him. He was an extremely positive person, even in the face of adversity or struggle. His life wasn’t often easy, but he found a way to get by. He was very family-oriented and loved his nieces and nephew and always wanted to hear about what they were doing in life. He reconnected with his daughter Paige after many years, and he was excited about rekindling that relationship. She was by his side when he passed, and David had been able to hear his granddaughter Marilyn’s voice for the first time just minutes before his death.
No services will be held, however, please memorialize David in your own special way.
