Betty Waite (Beatrice Majalca) 85, born in Hanover, NM passed away at St Mary’s Hospital on September 16, 2025.
Preceded in death by her parents Adolfo & Celsa Majalca, brothers Edward & Bill Majalca, sister Lucy Escudero, grandson Jesse Daniel Amaro & granddaughter Brandi Leann Romero.
Survived by her children Edith Betancourt, Cynthia Leas (Russ), Joseph Betancourt (Diana), Yvonne Betancourt as well as her sister Lynn Escudero.
Grandsons Sergio Amaro (Skye), Joshua Betancourt (Gosia), Justin Betancourt, granddaughters Clarissa Amaro and Erica Betancourt (Richard Navarrette)
Great grandchildren Caitlin, Mace & Aria Amaro, Aiden & Jacob Springer, Joshua & Jakub Betancourt, Carter & Alina Navarrette along with numerous nephews and nieces.
Betty was a very strong woman that would not be bullied. She was a fierce protector of her grandchildren and her friends. She was a supportive and loving aunt.
A memorial mass will be held on October 9, 2025 St Vincent de Paul’s Catholic Church at 10:00 am in Silver City, New Mexico.
