Beatriz was born to Francisco & Lillian Durazo, the first of five children. She has four siblings Francisco (Pancho), Felizardo (Lalo), Cecelia (Ceci) and Michael. She was born and raised in Douglas, AZ A close knit community where everyone knows everyone. She graduated from Douglas High School in 1968. In 1969, she gave birth to her first of three children, David Anthony. In 1974, she wed Charles T. Gamez. In 1975 She gave birth to her second child, Christina Beatriz. Followed by the birth of her last child in 1976, Charles Raymond. She was widowed in 1980. She continued to raise her children in Douglas, Az where she worked for Planned Parenthood and Arizona Family Care Associates. She eventually moved and settled in Tucson, Az where she raised her grandson Alejandro (Alex). She adored and cared for her “Triple A’s” Alex, Adrian & Analisa. Beatriz was always the life of the party. She was quick witted and very funny. She loved her children, adored her grandchildren and was always there to lend a helping hand. She loved her entire family but, she was especially close to her cousin and partner in crime, Ida Cruz. Also, Cousins Vicki Roche and Annabelle Dessert (The Good, The Bad & The Ugly). She was an avid reader especially books by J.A. Jance & David Baldacci. She loved watching Law & Order repeatedly. She fell ill in November 2025 and was placed on Home Hospice through Casa de la Luz Hospice in Tucson, who support the family immensely during her care at home. She was cared for by her three children David, Denise & Charles, who advocated for her through this very difficult time. She was surrounded by family during home hospice and on the very quiet evening of December 20th she went to be with her mother whom she loved and missed tremendously.

She is survived by her children: David (Denise), Charles, and Christina. Grandchildren: Alejandro, Adrian, Analisa, Frank Jr., and Homaro. Great-Grandchildren: Azalea, Milan, and Zalianna. Goddaughter: Isla Lewis. Also, many other aunts, cousins, nieces and friends.
