“If you have a pulse, you have a purpose” and Audrey May Ottilia (Haider) White lived every day of her 86 years with a purpose: To show love; to care for her family, friends, and patients; and to share her faith with all she met. Besides being a wife, mother, and grandmother, Audrey’s calling in life was providing maternity care. For 25 years she served as a labor and delivery nurse at Tucson Medical Center, helping to deliver hundreds of babies and to care for their mothers. She was born on July 30, 1937 in St. Paul, Minnesota and passed away late at night on August 10th, 2023 in Tucson, Arizona with family and friends by her side. She leaves behind her five children; Roger (Mohur Sidhwa), Jennifer Bassett (Art), Cathleen White (Tim Ward), Mary White (Patrick Soden), and James; her beautiful granddaughter Emily Bassett; her siblings Shirley Eisfelder (Dean), Marty Haider, and Norm Haider; June Phillips (her niece through marriage); and Roxy the family dog. Audrey came from a very large family with many cousins, nieces, nephews, and lifelong friends who will miss her dearly every day. We are all deeply saddened but rejoice in knowing that she is reunited with Paul (Buddy) her beloved husband of 51 years whom she missed every day since his passing in 2009 and with many others including her Mother Rosalia Haider and her siblings Geraldine Buckholtz, Kenneth, and David. Services and a Mass to celebrate Audrey’s life are planned for later in the year (when the weather is cooler) on December 13th, 2023 at St. Frances de Sales Parish in Tucson, Arizona at 10:00 AM. We commend Audrey to eternal rest in Paradise surrounded by God’s eternal love.
