Ann deCourcy (nee Thompson) age 79 passed away peacefully on January 18, 2024 after a long struggle with leukemia. Ann was married to her husband of 30 years, Timothy deCourcy who preceded her in death. Ann had no children but was a devoted dog mom and auntie. Ann was born on July 9, 1944 in Sydney Australia and was blessed to be the 5th of 13 children in a close knit family.

Ann left Australia after finishing high school and with a friend, a backpack, and an ocean liner ticket, made her way to England where she worked odd jobs to earn enough money to travel throughout Europe. In those travels, while working as a waitress in an NCO club in Germany, she met a young soldier named Tim deCourcy, fell in love and married. Upon returning to the US, Ann and Tim settled in Oakland California before moving on to other posts around the United States.

Ann earned her college degree in nursing in Sierra Vista Arizona, eventually moving on to Hayward California where she earned a bachelor’s degree and began a long career in providing care to patients. After retiring in 2005, Ann moved to her final home in Corona de Tucson, Arizona.

Family and friends will remember Ann as a strong, independent, caring, and selfless woman who loved to travel far and near and had boundless compassion for her furry friends. Ann enjoyed camping and the outdoors, and went on many cruises and travels to exotic places including Egypt, Cuba, and Antarctica. Ann was never afraid of just getting up and going and loved the adventures that awaited her. She will be missed greatly.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the American Cancer Society or the Animal Rescue League of Green Valley.
